The unborn granddaughter of veteran actor Ramon Revilla Sr. has been laid to rest, after complications in her mother’s womb cut off blood circulation one month shy of being born.
The remains of Audrey Ann Ynares, the 8-month-old child of Revilla’s daughter Andrea Bautista-Ynares, was buried on Wednesday at the Angelus Eternal Garden in Bacoor, Cavite, where the slain son of the veteran actor, Ramgen, was also laid to rest.
In the latest tragedy to befall the Revilla clan, Audrey suffered from umbilical cord compression while inside her mother’s womb. The rare condition is characterized by the umbilical cord “[getting] twisted around” the unborn baby.
Audrey’s leg, according to the Revillas, was caught in the umbilical cord, preventing the proper circulation of blood.
During the memorial service held for Audrey on Wednesday, the senior Ramon Revilla turned emotional, as his daughter Andrea and her husband Rizal Governor Jun Ynares wept over the passing of their child.
“We were all set and ready. All we needed was to set a day for my surgery. This episode of my life is like a bad dream, and I am trying to slowly grasp what happened,” Andrea said on Wednesday during the memorial service.
“I ask for patience and forgiveness if I am still dazed. I was not ready for this challenge in my life. Nevertheless, I am praying to face this, and I know that only time and love will heal me,” she added.
Andrea, who has two other daughters with the governor, also expressed regret over not having had the chance to raise their third child.
“I thank God for you and our time together. I have yet to discover why you were taken away from me so early, yet know that I love you even before I conceived you,” she said.
“I was looking forward to having you in my arm, and for you dada and I to raise you the best way we know how. We will always love you for the rest of our lives. Mahal na mahal ka namin, anak,” she added.
